‘‘Improved on time delivery at Aero Fabrications LTD’’

Extensive Fabrication Ability

Aero Fabrications Limited is a privately owned company that was established in 1983 and is situated in the heart of the United Kingdom.

As the name suggests the company specialises in the manufacture of precision fabricated details and assemblies for the Aerospace Industry.

Aero Fabrications Limited with its extensive fabrication capability, undisputed reputation for quality, on time delivery and customer focus has attracted customers from around the world.

With the service levels offered and extensive sub- contract network, Aero Fabrications have established a position to partner major aircraft manufacturers as well as second and third tier suppliers.

“Our users quickly accepted the new system”

In 2004 Aero Fabrications realised that their computer system needed replacing to keep up with their continued growth and took the decision to invest in a new Production Control System. The main requirements for the new system were to improve the ability to meet delivery schedules, general customer service, and the manufacturing process.

After evaluating a number of systems, Aero Fabrications took the decision to purchase a Redthorn system, and a 13 user system with 3 data capture touch screens was installed shortly after. The implementation of the system was project managed by Redthorn and included a comprehensive training package which Janis Wakeman, QA Officer, felt was “very good, our users quickly accepted the new system”.

“Increased Efficiency”

Since implementation Aero Fabrications have seen many benefits of the Redthorn system, in particular Mrs Wakeman lists;

“improved stock control, improved on-time delivery, increased efficiency and greater visibility of customer and supplier information.”

When asked which part of the system works best for Aero Fabrications Mrs Wakeman replied, ‘ progressing job cards as it enables us to locate jobs much faster than the old system, resulting in customer enquiries being resolved much quicker.
